On the morning of December 14, Ambassador Hu Bin to Djibouti led a delegation to visit the Djibouti International Free Trade Zone for an on-site inspection of the CMHD bonded logistics park overseas warehouse and the TELLS project. Ambassador Hu expressed his recognition of China Merchants’ achievements in operating overseas warehouses in Djibouti, and highly commended the TELLS project for its notable contributions to green transformation, industrial upgrading, and local employment.

He emphasized that enterprises must adhere to compliance red lines, strengthen risk prevention and control, fulfill social responsibilities, and strictly observe safety production regulations. In addition, the Ambassador affirmed China Merchants’ contributions to advancing the Belt and Road Initiative and deepening cooperation between China and Djibouti.

The TELLS project is the first bonded manufacturing enterprise in Djibouti. It has already employed nearly 400 local staff, and once fully operational, it is expected to create more than 800 additional direct jobs.
